The Elder Scrolls Online delves into the history of the Systres archipelago off High Isle in June

In a new video, ZeniMax reveals part of the story behind the Systres Archipelago, the setting for this year’s Elder Scrolls Online Chapter, High Isle.

The archipelago is home to homes of Breton nobles, as the families on the islands themselves play a complicated game of politics and intrigue. The archipelago itself, once united against any outside threat, is now fractured thanks to these family divisions.

The video goes into detail about the origins of the island, particularly during the time of the plague caused by the Sload. The All Flags Navy set sail from the Systres, determined to defeat the Sload. The archipelago stood united against any threat that came against the islands for a time. However, as Breton society broke up into the noble houses and their politics, so did the unity.

The video is fairly short, but it does a good job of setting the tone for an interesting chapter The Elder Scrolls Online. While the development team has seemingly focused a little too much on existential threats to Tamriel as the story focus in recent years, High Island aims to bring the story back to Tamriel itself and back to Tamriel ITThe roots of politics and intrigue drive the story forward.

High Island will be released on June 6th for PC, Stadia and Mac, while console players will have to wait until June 21st. You can watch the video in the embed above. Recently, ZeniMax gave a glimpse of High Isle’s new study, Dreadsail Reef, as well as announced that Lord of the rings’ Billy Boyd would join the cast.
