The Elder Scrolls Online Outlines High Isle Roadmap, Matt Firor Says They’re “Monitoring” Server Issues

Now that Rising tide has been on the road for several weeks The Elder Scrolls Online has an updated roadmap for High Isle, including a special preview stream today at 4:00 p.m. EDT. Meanwhile the IT Team has been working to fix sign-in and connection issues.

The Elder Scrolls Online had connection and login problems for weeks. From a major hardware issue discovered as the cause of instability on the North American PC Megaserver to connection and stability issues affecting the European PC Megaserver. Although these issues have been improved, they continue to affect some players. Studio Director Matt Firor has provided an update on how the situation looks now, especially with the start of the new Free Play event.

With the Free Play event they want to have a queue to throttle entry during busy periods, but this is likely to be on PC and during peak seasons. Firor states that this time of year there is an increase in demand around the anniversary event and the launch of new chapters, so given the recent server issues they will be closely monitoring performance and ready to address them.

High Island will be released on June 6th for PC and June 21st for console. Today’s preview stream will reveal some of what’s to come. A roadmap was updated this week to show what’s ahead in Q2. High Island, as well as update 34 of the base game. High Isle will be a new zone in the update that is said to contain 30 hours of new story content. It will also introduce a new card game system, Tales of Tribute. You’ll meet two new companions, Isobel and Ember, and take on the challenges of the new 12-player Trial Dreadsail Reef and the new World Event Volcanic Vents. In the new chapter there will also be 10 new item sets and mythical items, collectibles, furnishings, dyes, as well as achievements and titles.

Ahead of Update 34 you can expect Spanish localization, housing, new furniture and house guests, an updated Quickslot wheel, a choice of title screen music, and more. There will also be some accessibility improvements.
