The England v Iran screening in Brighton could be moved indoors
An outdoor screening of England’s first game at the World Cup could be moved indoors due to bad weather, organizers said.
A large outdoor screen on Brighton Palace Pier was due to show Qatar matches, but inclement weather in the city could mean the showing could be moved to Horatio’s Bar.
A spokeswoman for Brighton Palace Pier said: “If the rain doesn’t stop then we’ll be showing the match indoors.”
Heavy rain is forecast for Brighton until around 3pm, which will clear up completely by early evening.
Millions of England fans are expected to watch the 1pm game against Iran, despite controversies leading up to the tournament over Qatar’s human rights record, the treatment of migrant workers and the criminalization of homosexuality.
