The FAI Cup starts with top amateur fights in the preliminary round

This year’s FAI Cup gets underway this weekend with a series of top amateur fights in the preliminary round.
Sher Celtic open this year’s competition on Friday night when they host St Francis in an all-Dublin affair, and that opener is followed by Villa FC versus Inchicore Athletic on Saturday afternoon at Ozier Park.
On Sunday, FAI Intermediate Cup finalists Bluebell United and Rockmount AFC go head-to-head in Dublin 22 to advance in yet another knockout competition this season.
And in the second Dublin-Cork competition of the day, Killester hosts Donnycarney Carrigaline United at Hadden Park while Limerick’s Pike Rovers take on Cork’s Everton AFC.
The final game of the preliminary round is on May 8th with Liffey Wanderers and Salthill Devon in Irishtown.
