The family of Richard O’Halloran, the Irish businessman who was imprisoned in China, celebrated Easter with their father and husband for the first time in four years.
At the end of January, Mr O’Halloran returned to Ireland and his wife Tara and their four children.
Tara O’Halloran posted a message on Tweeter on Easter Sunday thanking everyone who supported the family and helped bring Richard home.
“First Easter together in four years,” she wrote.
“Thank you to everyone who helped Richard get home.
“We are so grateful to be back together as a family. Big celebrations today and I wish you all a happy Easter.”

Mr O’Halloran comes from a well-known South Dublin family and is a Director of China International Aviation Leasing Service Co Limited (CALS Ireland).
The senior Irish aviation leasing manager has been trapped in China since his trip to Shanghai in February 2019.
He went there to try and resolve an ongoing commercial and legal issue involving the Chinese owner of CALS Ireland.
The company’s chairman, Min Jiedong, is serving a prison sentence in China for fraud in fundraising.
The complex case he was involved in involved an Airbus A330 aircraft that CALS leased to Finnair.
During his three years in China, Mr O’Halloran endured endless court hearings and police interrogations, while also suffering severe health problems and having been resuscitated twice from prolonged seizures.
A deal was struck in January to finally allow the Irishman to return home.
