Voting for FIFA 23’s September Player of the Month is now open and five out of six of the eligible players are midfielders.
The vote for August’s Player of the Month went to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who scored ten goals in his first six Premier League games for the club.
That means Haaland will get a special FIFA 23 Player of the Month FIFA Ultimate Team card with boosted stats to reflect his victory.
These special cards are similar to the special Team of the Week cards, the first of which are now available via the FIFA 23 web and companion mobile apps.
Here are the six players to vote for September’s Player of the Month:
Philip Billing – Bournemouth AFC
The 75-rated Bournemouth midfielder might seem an odd choice for player of the month but he has started the season strongly.
He became Man of the Match by scoring in the team’s last 1-1 game against Newcastle United.
Despite being a midfielder, he also scored in Bournemouth’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.
That might not seem impressive, but given the team’s only promotion to the Premier League this season, it’s off to a strong start.
Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City
It’s hard to deny De Bruyne’s strength as a player, with a 91 rating he is the best player in the Premier League.
The Man City midfielder has been named man of the match twice this season, both in the 4-0 win over Bournemouth and in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
This month, Man City have won three out of four games by a margin of eight goals.
It’s easy to understand why FIFA 23 picked De Bruyne as he dominates the league.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – Tottenham Hotspur
While Spurs were spurned last month, midfielder Højbjerg took first place this month.
With an 83 rating, he is one of Spurs’ best players.
He was man of the match in Spurs’ 2-2 draw with Chelsea and helped Tottenham climb up the Premier League table.
Likely picked this month for assisting Son Heung-Min in his last-minute hat-trick against Leicester.
Alex Iwobi – Everton
Everton have not made any waves in the Premier League this season and at Iwobi’s 75 rating, he may seem like an odd choice.
However, he has played above his rating of late, assisting in three of Everton’s last four goals.
Another player from the match-winner in Everton’s 1-0 win over Fleetwood in the League Cup.
Not the strongest player but deserved the boost this month.
Jacob Ramsey – Aston Villa
Villa’s young attacking midfielder is another lower-scoring player for his club.
At just 75, Ramsey still has plenty of time to reach his full potential.
In their last game against Southampton, Ramsey scored the decisive goal to make him man of the match.
Despite not being the strongest player in the poll, he did have a good number of games this month.
Marcus Rashford – Manchester United
Rashford won the hearts of the nation when he took the government to task over free school meals and is a strong contender for this month’s Player of the Month title.
Like De Bruyne, the 82-rated forward has been voted Man of the Match twice this season – once in the side’s 2-1 win over Liverpool and again in the 3-1 win over Arsenal.
His Arsenal game was one of his strongest to date, not only scoring two of the three goals but also assisting in the last one.
He has also aided the club with a number of crucial passes and helped secure Man Utd’s place high in the rankings.
