PEOPLE fleeing a reported fight in the city collided with a car while exiting, causing extensive damage to another vehicle.
Police were called to reports of a fight in Brighton’s Norfolk Square at around 9.15pm on September 11.
Part of the group then got into a silver BMW, which left the area at high speed before colliding with a parked car.
The BMW was later badly damaged and found abandoned on Nicells Avenue.
A parked vehicle was badly damaged at the rear and thrown against a tree.
Debris lay across the street.
Another vehicle in the was seen with a shattered rear window, but it’s not clear if this is related to the incident.
Shards of glass from the rear passenger window were strewn across the back seats and onto the floor.
Sussex Police say the investigation is ongoing.
A spokesman said: “Around 9.15pm on September 11 a report was received of a fight in Norfolk Square, Brighton.
“Some of the group got into a silver BMW, which drove away from the scene at high speed, ramming into a parked car.
“The BMW was later found damaged and abandoned on Nizells Avenue.”
Meanwhile, a collision between a lorry and a car at Poling Corner in West Sussex yesterday morning partially blocked the A27, causing a long queue of traffic.
