The final five contestants were selected for the MasterChef finals after being tasked with a challenge that paid homage to the show’s surprising musical fame 10 years ago.
In Friday’s semi-final episode, it was announced that naval pilot Eddie, 31, from Yorkshire, and 23-year-old law graduate Radha from Bradford were among the finalists.
Pookie, a 46-year-old former beauty salon owner from Solihull, Inverness-born marketing consultant Sarah, 48, and 38-year-old Ioan, a marketing manager from Salford, will also compete to be crowned MasterChef Champion 2022 during the finals week, which begins on 3 June. May begins.
HR project manager Olayemi, 51, from Harrogate, missed out on a spot in the BBC cook-off last week.
The final challenge of semi-final week was the 10th anniversary celebration of the hit single Buttery Biscuit Bass, which featured a mix of soundbites from judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
It reached the top 40 in the UK Singles Chart and has been viewed more than 11 million times.
The Buttery Biscuit Base challenge required the final six contestants to create a dish inspired by the song and one of the more than 20 different food references it contained.
Tuesday saw the start of semi-final week, during which the 10 remaining hopefuls got their first taste of what it’s like to work in a restaurant while also being tested on teamwork.

After two were eliminated, eight contestants took the invention test on Thursday’s episode, where they had to create a chicken- or egg-inspired dish.
The final MasterChef episodes will air on 3rd, 4th and 5th May at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
