Are you ready for another brand new Game Boy game? Just recently we reported on Bitmap Soft’s brand new puzzler In The Dark for the Game Boy, and now the company is back with Glory Hunters, an action RPG focused on unlocking achievements to progress. It also looks like it much like The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, which we’re excited about!
The project is now live on Kickstarter, with Bitmap Soft looking for MX$800,000 (roughly just under $40,000 USD) to fully fund the project. At the time of writing, about a quarter of the overall goal has been funded, with another 44 days remaining.
The game itself focuses on “Glory Points”, a unique type of currency used to open new paths and explore the wide world. Unlocking Glory Points is similar to achievements; You fulfill specific objectives such as gathering materials, completing quests, and defeating groups of enemies.
Here are some features straight from Bitmap Soft:
– Players are free to choose where to go and discover different zones with unique mini-games, enemies and eccentric characters!
– You can also improve your health, buy more items and even hire people to help you in this task. You are free to spend Glory Points to create your very own experience!
– Be careful how you spend your Fame Points though; The next achievement might be harder to get.
– Try to save the land by awakening one of four gods and cleansing the nefarious monsters that lurk in the shadows.
This could be the perfect game to add to your collection if you own or plan to own the new Analogue Pocket. Alternatively, snag the ‘cheap and chic’ Miyoo Mini if the illusory Analogue Pocket is currently out of your reach. Of course, if you have the original Game Boy, you’re good to go!
