The Gotham Knights store page suggests the game could now have four-player co-op

Gotham Knights You may be able to play with up to four players online, although it’s previously advertised as allowing two-player co-op.

For now, Gotham Knights is only supposed to let you play online with one other friend, but the PSN store page for the game was recently updated to say it “supports up to 4 online players with PS Plus” (via Reddit ). It reiterates this point by distinguishing between support for the maximum number of offline and online players, only allowing one offline and four online. Previously, all marketing for the game only advertised two-player co-op, making this a big change for online gameplay.

Gotham Knights was originally supposed to launch last year after being announced in 2020, but there was a vague delay until 2022. However, the game now has a confirmed October 25 release date. The 2022 delay was confirmed in March 2021, so it’s a delay of almost a year and a half, meaning the bump up to four-player co-op could account for a big chunk of the delay.

It’s unclear how this might affect online gameplay since the missions are designed for two-player co-op, but it could also be a bug on the store page. We know that while the game is separate from the Arkham games, it takes a lot of mechanical inspiration from them, but the combat was designed around the fact that it features online co-op.

But if you thought Gotham Knights was a sequel to Arkham Knightit would be perfectly understandable considering the latter ends with Batman dying and the main concept of the former is Batman dying and his crew of traumatized children taking care of Gotham.

But this is also the first game to focus on the bat’s sidekicks, so there’s big questions if people will even care that much without the big guy. Although Gotham Knights is the first adaptation of The Court of Owls’ story, it should offer something different for fans of the caped crusader.
