How to replace or renew a UK passport

British plan public holidays overseas are being urged to check their passports and apply for an extension now before the summer, with waiting times currently at up to 10 weeks.

That home office has issued a warning for travelers from the UK as a backlog is expected following the impact of the Covid pandemic and travel restrictions that have prevented people from traveling abroad in recent years.

In fact, over five million people are estimated to have had their passport applications delayed in 2020 and 2021.

As a result, UK travelers waiting for passports could be left in the process for up to 10 weeks – and if you’ve booked a holiday you don’t want to risk being unable to start your trip because you left it too late.
