The ice rink opens in Eastbourne over Christmas

A new ice rink opened today and will be operational for the next month.

Eastbourne Lightning Fiber Ice Rink was completed last weekend ahead of its grand opening today.

The rink is located at the Enterprise Center in Station Parade, Eastbourne.

Organizers said the ice rink is significantly larger than last year.

Stephen Holt, chief executive of Your Eastbourne Business Improvement District, said: “Last year many of our sessions sold out by the last day of opening in January so now is the time to book and make sure you don’t miss out on yours festive skate with family or friends.

“Plus, it’s cheaper to book in advance and with 2021 prices and cheap family tickets it’s an all round winner.”

After adding additional space on the ice this year, the rink has also expanded the grounds with a larger viewing area, a new separate skate rental and locker area, more glitter ball themed decorations, and a new winter bar with cozy log cabins – open to non-people too -Skater.

There are also handmade gifts, locally sourced produce and traditional bratwurst, mulled wine and Yorkshire pudding wraps for Christmas lunch.

Eastbourne’s Lightning Fiber Ice Rink is open until January 8th at the Eastbourne Enterprise Center from 10am to 8pm (10am to 10pm on weekends).
