Gardai is probing whether the 29-year-old Lithuanian man was accidentally killed.
She was also seen unconscious by a friend with two men.
The main theory is that Ms. Raguckaite was killed after a scuffle with people connected to an organized crime gang operating on both sides of the border.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardai in Dundalk is investigating the disappearance of Giedre Raguckaite in May 2018 which has arrested a man.
“He could be detained for up to 24 hours.”
