The Iranian Hulk turned down the chance to pull out of his fight with Martyn Ford four weeks before it was officially called off.
The Iranian star – real name Sajad Gharibi – was due to travel to the UK to make his boxing debut against Ford at the O2 on April 30. However Ford confirmed in a video statement that the fight had now been scrapped on social media where he appeared blame his rival for the collapse of the fight.
After the fight was initially postponed from its original April 2 date, Ford released a statement Instagram Acknowledgment of rejection: “He has been given the opportunity to retire, but he does not want to resign. He’s 100 percent adamant that he wants this fight. So trust me it won’t be a smooth fight, he knows that exactly what he’s getting into now, and April 30th – it’s going to be a night to remember. See you there.”
Gharibi had already done that reacted defiantly when asked if he was serious about acknowledging the clash during the couple’s first meeting in Dubai. The couple broke out in fights before Ford expressed his uncertainty about his longtime rival stepping into the ring.
The Iranian denied claims he was not ready to fight and claimed he played a significant role Weight loss during his preparations. However, an interview later surfaced on Iranian TV that raised further concerns as he was brought to tears after receiving hateful comments online on social media.
He even claimed his parents had rejected him After the heated argument, he had to take sleeping pills. Fans had already expressed their concerns prior to this point after he posted a worrying message on social media that ‘wishes death’

His post also suggested that he had no coach in his corner for the showdown. Now Ford faces the possibility of missing his boxing debut entirely, having been left unopposed just three weeks before the event.
However, he remained resilient during his testimony, telling fans he plans to find a new opponent and a date for his performance at Iron Square. “That’s a statement I didn’t want to make public, but my fight will be postponed,” he told fans on Instagram. The event is still going on and there are some great people and some great fights.
“But unfortunately, for reasons beyond my control, my fight will not be one of those. It doesn’t take a genius to figure them all out, I don’t want to talk about them, too much time and energy has been wasted. “I’m still here and I’m still training hard but there will be a debut and there will be a fight. I’m just not 100% sure who or when and why?”
