The IVF grant should not be the only focus of government funding for fertility treatment

Last week the government announced that it will fund IVF fertility treatment from next year. However, there is no point in incentivising one type of fertility treatment over another.

Considering how invasive and expensive IVF is, and its relatively low overall success rate (20-30 percent), perhaps it should be the last resort rather than being touted as the first port of call.
