The Ivy Asia restaurant opens in Brighton today

The first Asian-inspired concept at Ivy Asia in Sussex opens today, Tuesday 12th July.

Located on Ship Street, the restaurant is spread over two floors. It’s open seven days a week for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and weekend brunch.

On Thursday last week numerous guests gathered to celebrate the opening of the restaurant.

Attendees enjoyed a range of canapés, from lobster wonton with black truffle and yuzo kosho to roasted wagyu beef with barbecue glaze, while those with a sweet tooth savored coconut mochi ice cream and passion fruit coconut donuts.

Drinks included exclusive cocktails, champagne, wines and beers, as well as entertainment from taiko drummers and a live DJ who helped create the evening’s soundtrack.

Guests were greeted by bright green onyx flooring and a 19th-century glass-domed skylight that sat above the cocktail bar.

Furnished with colorful artwork, Asian fabrics, wallpaper and antiques, the restaurant is designed as an “elegant yet vibrant place”.

Celebrity attendees included: Anna Maynard, Daniel Webb, Chloe Goodman, Tyler West, Will Thomson and Dakota Blue Richards

From today, in addition to the main restaurant and bar, guests can also experience a sushi bar where the dishes are prepared in front of their eyes.

The kitchen at Ivy Asia, Brighton is overseen by Executive Chef Simon Gregory, while the dishes are inspired by cuisines from the Asian continent.

The menu includes popular favorites from sister restaurants The Ivy Asia in St Paul’s and The Ivy Asia in Guildford, with highlights such as The Ivy Asia “Silver Shell” and an extensive sushi and sashimi selection, including yellowtail sashimi with fresh truffle salad , fried beef tataki with three kinds of onions and three kinds of salmon.

Vegetarian and plant-based options include avocado silken tofu with a lime ginger dressing, along with roasted eggplant miso and masago arare.

The menu is accompanied by a selection of cocktails, sake, wines, champagne and Asian Jing tea specialties.

The cocktails are Asian-inspired with a range of exciting flavors and colorful toppings.
