The jury prepares for the trial of Harvey Weinstein

A jury of nine men and three women is sitting in the Los Angeles trial of Harvey Weinstein for the rape and sexual assault.

They were selected from a pool of 225 potential jurors who were summoned last week in a process lasting about six days.

The judge and attorneys have yet to seat 10 alternate jurors and the trial will resume Thursday afternoon.

Opening statements in the case are expected to begin on Monday.

The 70-year-old former film mogul, who is already serving a 23-year sentence after being convicted in New York in 2020, has pleaded not guilty to four counts of rape and seven other counts of sexual assault in Los Angeles.

Because her personal information was primarily revealed in sealed questionnaires, little is known about the 12 jurors who will decide Weinstein’s guilt.

Those who sat were asked few questions in court.

Their ages appeared to be mostly between 40 and 70. Some appeared to be older and one man appeared to be in his early to mid 20s.
