The latest Persona spin-off game introduces changes players have been desperately looking for

SOUL Hackers 2 is the latest game in the Shin Megami Tensei series that spawned the Persona games, and a new patch will significantly improve gameplay.

As with many games in the franchise, you’ll bond with your teammates, upgrade your gear, and crawl through dungeons in search of demons to befriend.

Soul Hackers 2 also includes demon merging mechanics, a touching story, and a no-die mode that made the latest Persona games a huge hit with fans.

While the Persona series is as popular as ever, Soul Hackers 2 hasn’t been a hit with fans.

All the important pieces were there, but the game suffered from one major problem; the tempo.

Dungeons are big and sprawling, and you often have to backtrack to pick up all of the items.

However, the protagonist Ringo only learned to walk about a third of the way into the game.

By strengthening your bond with another character, Milady, you could unlock the Assassin’s Steps power.

This allowed Ringo to run at double speed, but it costs a few MP to use and ran out pretty quickly, requiring it to be reapplied.

The Assassin’s Steps upgrade was also somewhat hidden and easily overlooked by players.

As you wander through the dungeons, you will encounter many enemies, some of which are much lower than your level.

There is an automatic combat mechanism for this, in which each group member intervenes with their basic attacks.

However, some enemies resist these attacks, some are even immune to them or reflect the damage back at the player.

This means you have to use the slower regular battle mode even if the enemies are way below your level.

In the upcoming update, you will be able to choose different attacks while maintaining the increased combat speed.

It seems that developer Atlus really listened carefully to what fans wanted in order to improve the gaming experience.

Other small changes have been implemented, loading times have been reduced and new demons have been added.

The patch will roll out in a few weeks, and full patch notes can be found on the official site.
