The launch of Paramount+ in the UK this week might make you ditch Netflix – but is it right for you?
JUST when you thought there were enough streaming services, now Paramount gets involved.
The US entertainment giant is making its grand Paramount+ debut in the UK, with a slew of old and new exclusive content to keep you entertained.

But is that enough to ditch Netflix for good?
What is Paramount+?
Paramount+ is a streaming service operated by Paramount Global, the same company that has made thousands of films under Paramount Pictures.
Paramount has a lot of big names to expect stuff from on the new streaming platform.
These include Showtime, BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, as well as Paramount Pictures and the Smithsonian Channel.
It has already been launched in the US, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Nordics and Australia.
And now it’s off to the UK.
What’s available on Paramount+?
Paramount says it will launch with more than 8,000 hours of content for the whole family.
Some of the biggest series will be available including Star Trek, Yellowstone, South Park and MTV Shores, for SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol and Rugrats.
The list of originals are:
- GLORIOLE
- 1883
- Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
- The offer
- Mayor of Kingston
- Super pumped: The fight for Uber
- The First Lady
- The man who fell to earth
- Queen of the Universe
- Jerry & Marge are growing up
Paramount blockbuster films will also be available such as Scream 5, Grease and Star Trek.
When does Paramount+ launch in the UK?
Paramount+ will be available in the UK and Ireland on June 22nd.
How much will Paramount+ cost?
Paramount+ costs £6.99 per month or £69.90 for the year.
But anyone with a Sky Cinema subscription can access Paramount+ at no additional cost.
