‘The Lost City’ and Richard Linklater Studios for SXSW

The moon landing, the multiverse and the thoughts of movie star Nicolas Cage will all be part of this year South by Southwest Film Festival lineupOrganizers announced on Wednesday.

Among the offerings in Austin, Texas, the festival is Adam Nee and Aaron Nee’s “The Lost City,” starring Sandra Bullock as a romance novelist who ends up on a sort of adventure. “Romancing the Stone” with Channing Tatum.

Another action movie on the list is “The unbearable weight of mass talent“Telling about Cage himself, reflecting on his career.

The opening of the festival will be “Anything Anywhere AnytimeFrom the writing team Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (aka Daniels) and starring Michelle Yeoh in a sci-fi thriller involving taxes and the multiverse.

Also in this combination is “Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Childhood” directed by Richard Linklater Austin. The setting of the coming-of-age film takes place in suburban Houston during the summer of the Apollo 11 moon landing.

The festival, which runs from March 11-20, will mainly be held in person, with some online options. In 2020, it was one of the first major events to be canceled because of the pandemic, and the following year it was turned into a virtual event.
