The man appears in court accused of attempting to murder two PSNI officers after police vehicles were rammed by a tractor in Co Tyrone

A Co Tyrone man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of two police officers after an incident in which their car was rammed by a tractor.

Atthew Nolan, 25, of Tattenabuddagh Lane, Fivemiletown, also faces charges of threatening to kill officers, damaging two PSNI vehicles, being disqualified and driving without insurance, dangerous driving while incapacitated by alcohol or drugs, failing to take a breath test hand over, failure to stop and remain at the scene of the accident where the damage was caused and failure to report this to the police.

He appeared in court via video link from police custody on Monday, speaking only to confirm his identity and to confirm that he understood the charges.

All matters relate to an incident on Fivemiletown’s Main Street on Friday.

A detective constable told Enniskillen Magistrates Court that the charges may be linked.

A defense attorney said there would be no request for bail at this time, after which District Judge Steven Keown remanded Nolan to appear again October 24 via video link.
