A man said his girlfriend was contacted by a ghost after the couple paid a spooky visit to a spooky hotspot.
The 40-year-old man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he was visiting an area near York with his partner and afterwards she received a creepy text message.
as Teesside Live Reportscame the messages from the man’s phone – and he could think of no other explanation for how it had happened, other than a haunting.
The first text asked the woman to “call back later,” and the second, oddly enough, contained a cryptic message that the man later deciphered.

The man said: “When we were in York I took a picture of the corridor leading to the toilets in a pub because I thought it looked spooky.
“I thought nothing of it and just sent it to my girlfriend for her to see. The next morning at 1.48am we both received a text message from my phone saying ‘Can you call me back later?’
“I obviously hadn’t sent that text message because I was sleeping, so we were both very confused as to where it came from.
The messages didn’t stop there, and ten hours later the man found another typed on his phone that read ‘we are inv 4n 2 z 4nb’.
Unsure what that string of numbers and letters meant, he turned to the internet to find out more.
He continued: “I googled these numbers and came up with an equation created by German scientist Armand Hückel. The Hueckel formula (using 4n+2) is a calculation of molecular orbitals on electron systems.

“Obviously I had never heard of this and never used this equation in my life, so I’m very unsure how an unsent text message on my phone came about.”
The man said he couldn’t think of any explanation other than a ghost broadcasting the cryptic texts and equations on his phone, or what they mean.
He said: “Well it’s either paranormal activity or someone managed to hack into my phone number and start texting on my behalf.
“I don’t know how the messages got there, none of us sent them and none of us have received messages like this since.”
