A grandmother’s sweet card to her grandson has the internet in tears.
A man shared a picture of the birthday card his grandma gave him for his 47th birthday in a post Reddit ‘s MadeMeSmile forum.
The caption read: “My 98-year-old grandma has been making me birthday cards for years. This is the simplest of all, but it means the most.”
In the picture, the man’s grandmother had typed out a sweet message on a piece of plain paper and printed it out.
It reads, “Happy Birthday [name redacted].

“This will be the last time I try to write on the computer and do it because the hands don’t want to write and the memory is going fast now, but I’m trying to make a birthday card for you, sweetheart [name redacted].
“I love you so much, grandma [name redacted].”
Reddit users were a little over the heartfelt note and commented, as one person wrote, “That hit me to the core.”
Another said: “Treasure this forever.”
A third offered a tip on how to keep it in perfect condition over the years.
They said: “Get an acid-free archival folder and keep that map in there and keep it in a safe place. This is priceless and beautiful. Thank you for sharing them with us.”
While someone else suggested framing the card to keep forever, he wrote: “It’s a written record, undeniable proof of love.
“Trust me when they’re gone there’s nothing quite like remembering the times you had with them, the love you had for each other.”
In the comments, the man shared more about his grandma.
He wrote: “She lost her husband this year, my 97 year old grandpa. That makes me realize, especially with this card, that I’m going to lose it too.
“Both were rocks in my life.
“Sometimes you’re lucky enough to have the best GMA in the world.”
Other users shared heartwarming stories from their own grannies.
“Mine was the sweetest person you ever met. I’ve never seen her say a mean word about anyone.
“She was totally loving and was the only truly altruistic person I’ve ever known. I was lucky to have known her so well.
“She’s never really gotten into computers, though, except for playing solitaire games!”
And another user revealed: “I found a letter from my grandmother recently while cleaning up some things in our garage. It was when I was struggling at school and she sent me some money to hire a tutor. She shared some of her struggles with school and said she would always find more when I needed it.
“I’ve kept the letter all these years, I think it’s been over 25 years since she sent it. She was gone for so long but this letter brought her back and filled me with a deep sense of being loved again.”
