The Mobo Awards will return to London for a special 25th anniversary

The Mobo Awards will return to London for a special 25th anniversary on November 30, it has been announced.

His annual event, which celebrates and elevates black music in the UK, will take place at this year’s OVO Arena Wembley.

The Mobo Awards first took place in 1996 at the Grand Connaught Room in London, and the trophies are now considered among the highest in UK music.

Mobo founder Kanya King praised the “incredible journey” the event has had since its inception.

She said: “What a proud moment the Mobo Awards are returning to London for our important 25-year milestone.

“25 years ago, I set my house and my sanity to do the first Mobo Prize at Connaught Rooms, and it has been an incredible journey.

“Mobo continues to rise and make a socio-cultural footprint, it will continue to be an agent of positive change in art, culture, music and society in general.

“Through our Mobolise career development platform, we aim to create meaningful change, opportunity and equality in the workplace, to level the playing field from entry level to room. meeting, but there is still work to be done.
