But they have shared how friends and strangers alike have called their pairing “creepy” and told them to “find people their own age.”

The couple, who lives in Colorado, USA, were first brought together by their love of cosplay after meeting at a 2019 science fiction exhibition.

Kat, an adult model and content creator, and Robrecht, a retired military man, hit it off immediately on their first date, despite the years between them, and sparked.

They’ve been married for seven months now and while the couple is very happy, they’ve faced criticism from people who don’t approve of their connection.

“Neither of us have any weird feelings about it,” Kat said.

“We’re both open-minded people, but I get a lot of questions from people about our relationship.

“Some of Robrecht’s friends were skeptical – one of them was even upset that he was with me – but his family was very tolerant.

“My family not so much, my mother especially, I ended up moving out because I didn’t want to live in an awkward situation anymore.

“But when I moved out, my family and I were on good terms again.”

Some of Kat’s friends also initially questioned the couple’s relationship.

However, once they realized the couple was the real deal, they came to terms with the age gap

However, the couple are still dealing with negative reactions from the public and online.

She said: “I notice it more than Rob.

“Comments online are like ‘gosh, how old is that guy’, ‘he’s scary’ or ‘why can’t he find someone his age’.

“Once he paid for me to get a pedicure and when he went to kiss me the lady looked at us so shocked.

“But I love the fact that he’s older, I’ve always preferred older men.”

Kat also claims to have an older man for better sex.

She said: “Sex is better with older men because they are so tender.

“Younger men watch too much porn and get so excited that it’s over so quickly, but we’re always adventurous in bed.”

However, Kat has offered some advice for anyone entering a relationship with a big age gap.

She said: “When they are older, you should consider their health, depending on the fact that they may not be around for long.

“You also have to have tough skin because people comment and even stare.

“But the bottom line is to do what makes you happy.

“If it’s an age gap relationship, do it, it’s your luck.”

The Mirror told in March how the couple fell in love after their first date.

Kat then said: “For Rob it was my geeky personality and for me it was that he could make me laugh effortlessly – we’re both inherently stupid people.

“My family wasn’t too keen on me and Rob being together, especially in the beginning.

“My mother said he was closer to her age and he only wanted me because I’m young and eventually he’d get tired of me.

“It was hurtful but things have changed in the last two years and she seems okay with that now.

“They recently met and she even gave him a hug which was a big moment.”
