Another day, another Fourteen days collaboration, this time with none other than Pac Man.
The announcement of the collaboration was made on the official Japanese Pac-Man website, but details on how it will develop are rather tenuous at this time. “Fortnite, an online game marketed and distributed by Epic Games, and Pac-Man have decided to work together,” read the announcement. “Pac-Man themed items will be available. The collaboration begins on June 2.”
Oddly enough, however, the official Fortnite Twitter account hasn’t mentioned that Pac-Man is included in the game. Yesterday (May 22nd) was Pac-Man’s birthday (we brought you nothing, sorry) and Fortnite Twitter wished the round man a happy birthday, prompting suspicion among fans. Apparently a collaboration is in the works now, although it doesn’t look like Pac-Man itself will be playable.
That makes sense considering Pac-Man is a perfectly spherical, short king that probably wouldn’t map well to the normal human bodies found in battle royale. We can probably expect some Pac-Man outfits and accessories, though Bandai Namco promised more news soon. We’re a little over a week away from when the collaboration is due to happen, so the news will likely come this week.
Pac-Man is the latest in an incredibly long line of IPs that have been included in the absolutely massive free-to-play shooter. Fortnite also recently added Blanka and Sakura from street fighter comes into play, as well as a surprise Wu Tang Clan crossover.
Epic Games Also recently announced that Obi-Wan Kenobi is joining the game as a skin, obviously in anticipation of the upcoming show of the same name on Disney+. Kenobi will be playable as a skin, but instead of a lightsaber, players will get Obi-Wan’s blade instead. As well as a Jedi Interceptor Glider.
