Linly Litta-Clayton has suffered from excruciating pain after being diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis.

A woman who has spent years suffering from unexplained pelvic pain shared that she was unable to hold her son in her arms.

Linly Litta-Clayton, 43, was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis on her bowels in 2019, leaving her in crippling pain, Grimsby Direct Report.

The condition left the Malawi-born woman feeling sick, constipated and bloated on a daily basis as the tissue around her abdomen had grown to the size of three oranges.

Linly, who now lives in Scunthorpe, will need complex surgery to ease the pain but she has been on a waiting list since October 2020.

That’s why she’s set up a GoFundMe page to raise £10,000 as she can’t take ‘more pain’ and if left untreated she could face bowel and kidney failure .

She said: “I have been living with constant pain in my pelvis and abdomen since 2017.

“When I went to the doctors, they first said it could be irritable bowel syndrome or a poor diet.

“MRI at Grimsby Hospital, Diana Princess of Wales revealed that I had deep infiltrative endometriosis with dense adhesions between the left uterine wall and the left pelvic wall and left ovary.

“I also had adhesions in my abdomen that caused me to have constant pain with heavy periods.

“It was like a pulling and twisting pain in my lower back. My uterus had grown to three times the size of a normal woman’s uterus because of endometriosis.

“I’ve been told by the doctors that it’s like three large oranges are squeezing inside of me. It’s horrible and I can’t take it anymore.”

Living with the condition has affected Linly so much that she can’t even hold her son without pain.

She describes how the condition has affected her work and financial situation.

She said: “I can’t even hold my nine-year-old son. It’s not that I don’t want to, but it hurts so bad, to hold him in my arms.”

“I had to reject him, which a mother grieves when he is my son, whom I love.

“My condition has affected my ability to work. I have had to work three jobs since 2019 because of the pain.

“I work as a caregiver 16 hours a week because the pain is so bad. It has put our family on a tight budget and I wish I could have done more.

“But the pain has gotten worse and I can’t take it anymore because it has affected my work and home life.”

Linley has been on a waiting list at St Mary’s Hospital for Women and Children in Manchester since October 2020.

She has now set up a Go Fund Me page to help her get the vital surgery she needs.

She said: “It’s really hard going through this pain. I just feel that with each passing day, the endometriosis is getting worse and worse.

“I will need to undergo a two-stage surgery to help ease the pain which will cost £10,000.

“It will involve surgery on my bowel to remove endometriosis and surgery to help preserve my uterus.

“I want a total hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) and a hysterectomy to remove all the endometriosis from the bowel.

“Because of how complicated my condition is, there are only a handful of teams in the UK that are trained and experienced enough to successfully perform this surgery.

“I’ve put a lot of my life aside and that’s enough.”

She said the surgery would make a big difference in her life.

It may even allow her to feel comfortable holding her son without any pain or discomfort.

“It will allow me to have a better quality of life,” she said.

“I will be able to hold my son without pain. I will have that family life again.

“I really don’t know how my husband has stuck with me for so long. He’s really supportive and a rock.

“And I will be able to get financially stable again to work more than I do.

“I want to do it for myself, but I also want to do it for them.”
