Mom bonds with babies after giving birth to third set of twins

A US woman has just celebrated becoming the proud mother of ten children after giving birth to her third set of twins.

Kimberley and John Alarcon, 37 and 43, say they always wanted children of their own but had no idea they would one day be raising a family of 10 young children.

On April 25, the already large Alarcon family welcomed two more members to the herd after baby girls Kenzy and Kenzley arrived safely via caesarean.

The little girls are said to get plenty of adoration from their doting older siblings Brittney, 17, Sarah, 13, Hunter, 10, twins Zoey and Zachary, six, twins Olivia and Oliver, four, and King, three.

Beautician Kimberley, of Wallkill, New York, says both she and her detective husband were “devastated” when they first learned they were expecting twins.

They could never have guessed that within a few short years they would welcome two more sets of twins.

Kimberley, who documents her busy family life via her Instagram account @10andkim, said: “Twins run on my father’s side in the family. My aunt also had multiples that were completely natural. But I was completely taken aback because it skipped generations and landed on me.

“I’ve been blown away every time I’ve been told I’m having twins. With every pregnancy since then, it’s been a bit of a gamble as to whether they’ll be twins again. But I’m really grateful.”

She added: “Kenzy and Kenzley were actually triplets but we lost one of the babies early in the pregnancy so the trio became a duo.

“I really didn’t have time to process the loss of the third baby because I had to put my full focus on making sure I wouldn’t lose the others.

“I was shocked to find out I was pregnant again because we hadn’t planned more, we were happy and over budget. But we are so blessed and lucky to have our large family.”

Though Kimberley admits it always takes her family a while to adjust after each new addition, she feels very fortunate and “blessed” with her lot in life.

She’s currently quite content being a mother of ten, but says she hasn’t ruled out possibly having another set of twins at some point in the future either.

Kimberley said: “I love everything about being a mother to all my children. My husband John is the most wonderful father. He loves being a father and taking care of his children.

“Every day I love the hugs and kisses and the way they depend on me and trust me. I love the ups and downs, the good, the bad and everything in between.”
