Naked Attraction’s first transgender contestant coughed at police officers and told them she hoped they had died of Covid when she was arrested, a court has heard.
Amira Nadeem, 24, made the comments when officers visited her home in November 2020 when excessive noise and music were reported.
When Nadeem, who appeared on the Channel 4 show in 2019, answered the door, she was “aggressive” and told police she hoped they had died of Covid.
In 2020, she was cleared of driving a taxi involved in the racist attack on the driver that saw two thugs sentenced to 38 months in prison.
Today she pleaded guilty to charges of threatening or abusive conduct in Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Tony Kelly tagged Nadeem, of Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, for eight months, keeping her indoors between 7pm and 7am.
She was also placed under supervision for two years.
The court heard officers visited her home and numerous people were found in the living room.
Prosecutor Lauren Donnelly said: “Nadeem stood by the door and immediately shouted aggressively at officers while grinding her teeth.
“She shouted ‘F* you, you p**s, I hope you die of Covid’.”
She was told to stop doing this, but continued to yell and verbally abuse her.
A woman was found at the property along with Nadeem’s mother and stepfather, and all have been questioned as to the reason for their visit to the property.
Nadeem continued to shout, “I hope you and your family die from coronavirus.”
Miss Donnelly added: “She threatened to cough at an officer and then deliberately coughed in her direction.”
Nadeem was arrested and then stated she hoped officers had caught Covid.
She was then taken into custody.
Andy Iles, defending himself, told the court that Nadeem had had surgery at the time and was on medication.
The attorney said the woman was her friend and had “verified” her.
Mr Iles added: “Her parents looked after her as she was unable to take care of herself after the operation.”
Nadeem appeared on the dating show when she was 21 to celebrate her first year as a woman.
She said in 2019, “One night I was sitting in front of the TV eating fries and cheese and it just came to my mind. I opted for it.
“After my gender change I was proud and wanted to show myself to the world.
“I wanted to encourage more people like me, who’ve been through what I’ve been through, to come out and be themselves.”
