The Netflix anime Tekken: Bloodlines is coming later in 2022

Netflix just announced another title to its growing collection of original anime series. It is planning a release Tekken: bloodline later that year and unveiled the series with a one and a half minute “official teaser” trailer. There’s no specific date or mention of episode count, but the synopsis shows it will focus on Jin Kazama, who has joined the series as a character Tekken 3.

Unlike some other late ’90s game franchises that have grossed more than 50 million copies, the Tekken series has had few attempts at translating the story to film or television. These attempts managed to capture a totally unforgettable 2010 live-action flick that is most notable one of 43 films on Rotten Tomatoes to receive a zero percent rating based on reviews from critics. At some point, the producer/director of the Tekken games, Katsuhiro Harada, tweeted that it was awful, and said: “We couldn’t supervise this film; it was a cruel contract. I’m not interested in this film.”

The conditions around this adjustment can be better than Harada invited fans to watch the new trailer. If the games have their way, the show will be the King of Iron Fist fighting tournament, which includes control of a powerful corporation as prizes, the generational power struggle of the Mishima family who run the corporation and the tournament, and supernatural powers / Devil Gene mutation corruption shared by Heihachi Mishima (who also appears in the trailer), his son Kazuya Mishima, and Kazuya’s son Jin Kazama.

Jin’s mother, Jun Kazama, was also a character in the games, and the trailer appears to show her training him when they are attacked by another boss from the games, the monstrous ogre. These events will see him enter the tournament full of familiar faces – faces that may or may not wear jaguar masks at all times – and flashes throughout the trailer show at least some of the characters we can expect to see.

“Power is everything.” Jin Kazama learned the family’s self-defense arts, traditional Kazama-style martial arts, from his mother at a young age. Despite this, he was powerless when suddenly a monstrous evil appeared, destroying everything dear to him and changing his life forever. Angry at himself for not being able to stop it, Jin swore revenge and sought absolute power to claim it. His quest leads to the ultimate battle on a global scale – the King of Iron Fist Tournament.

Even after non-delivery a live action Cowboy Bebop Netflix, which deemed it worthy of a second season, remains focused on adapting anime and games for new content. It is League of Legends-based anime series arcane received enthusiastic criticism (even if it dota 2-linked anime Dragon blood not), while The Witcher Live action TV show has done well enough to earn a third seasonn, a second anime film and an upcoming children’s show. A Live action adaptation of One piece started production earlier this year, and Netflix also has anime adaptations of Scottish pilgrim and the terminator series in progress.

Disclosure: The edge is currently producing a series with Netflix.
