The new iPhone 14 is getting a BIG change that Apple fans have been wanting for years

APPLE is planning to take the design of its next iPhone to the next level, making one of the biggest changes in a long time.

New reports suggest that the iPhone 14 Pro will make a big departure that has been on the cards for some time.

It looks like Apple may finally ditch its famous notch design in favor of something else.

According to reports, it will instead have both a pill shape and a punch hole.

It’s a design we’ve seen on a number of smartphones in recent years but will be Apple’s first.

The idea behind it is to give users more screen space.

An analyst told Apple Insider that the company will likely make the move later this year, starting with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The standard iPhone 14 will likely retain the notch.

But by 2023, he expects all devices in the iPhone 15 series to completely remove the notch.

“This will be another instantly recognizable screen shape for Apple,” said Ross Young, from Display Supply Chain Consulting.

“The pill + hole design is almost as wide as the notch but will certainly save some pixels above the holes.”

And with time, he also thinks Apple will replace the usual Face ID technology it uses at the moment with an under-display face feature.

However, that replacement production is not expected to be ready for the 2023 releases.

Apple has always kept future products a secret, so we’ll have to wait and see if that becomes a reality later this year.
