Maya Jama will reportedly take over the popular dating show, with the current BBC presenter having agreed to host the winter version of the show in South Africa.
She will also reportedly be taking over the summer version of the show.
An ITV insider told The sun: “They believe that she will make the show her own and pick up where Caroline left off.
“They are in the process of finalizing the last few details – but barring any big surprises, it will be officially announced very soon. You just dot the i’s and cross the t’s.”
In response to the claims, a itv A spokeswoman said: “Our new host will be announced in due course.”
It comes after Laura Whitmore announced she is stepping down from the role in August.
The 37-year-old has presented the popular dating show and its spin-off series Aftersun since 2020 following the death of the show’s former host Caroline Flack.
Whitmore shared the news on her Instagram, writing, “Some news! I will not be hosting the next series of Love Island.
“There are certain elements of the show that I have found very difficult and cannot be changed due to the format, including flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.
“I wish it was still possible, but I know you’re in safe hands. I was only going to fill in for Caroline for 1 series and that ended up being 3 series. I hope I made you proud Caroline.”
