Yesterday, Valorant Episode 6 was teased as part of the Revelation theatrical trailer, but now we have the full details to share with you. The map that forms the bulk of the new content for Act 1 is called Lotus. Set in India, it has three spike sites, and there are a number of unusual but interesting mechanics that make it one of the most exciting games in the game.

Key features of Lotus include:

• An Omega Earth setting in India, specifically in the Western Ghats
• Inspired by traditional Indian stepwells and Dravidian rock architecture
• It’s a map with 3 locations like Haven

Valorant Art Lead Brian Yam spoke about some of the inspiration the development team drew when designing Lotus in a press release sent to Twinfinite:

“As we explored the conceptual aspect of this map, we wanted to push the boundaries of fantastical and mystical elements that weren’t shown in our previous maps. In Lotus, we were freer to explore more fantastical visuals since Kingdom didn’t exist on that map. We wanted to explore the theme of the great adventure, time lost secrets and a lost ancient structure. Indiana Jones was one of the thematic inspirations we drew from.

Visually we found the rock cut Architecture is fascinating because it evokes a mystical and ancient atmosphere on the subject. Additionally, this also provided a new direction from our existing maps, as most of our maps are primarily urban or feature modern architecture. The visual direction and architecture we wanted to explore in the Western Ghats of India went well with the rock architecture inspired by the Ellora Caves and the Dravidian-inspired structures.

The visual hook for this map is radianite relics present in the structures. The giant mutated lotus in the center of the map represents one of these relics. For example, one of these relics suggested that the ancient residents used them as a power source to turn stone doors around the map. Also, we started to play around with the idea of ​​how the mutant plants could store and emit energy from radianite.”
