The new world update fixes bugs and frees deleted character names for a new use

Moving to May, at the latest New world The update focuses on fixes, but also opens names that were locked when characters using them were deleted.

Several of the fixes in this update address issues that were preventing players from progressing or otherwise causing major problems. Some of these were related to performance as there was an issue that could cause global events and timers to affect server performance. This was fixed along with another issue that was causing crafting sessions to fail at high latency.

Players also saw that dodging was disabled after being exhausted. Of course, this put those affected at a disadvantage. The Hatchet Berserk and Ice Gauntlet Ice Pylon abilities were also not being taken off cooldown in some cases. In another fix that needed some research to really figure out how it happened:

Fixed an issue that caused the Zeal, Empowered, and Fortified Amulet perks to disable the Freedom, Strength, and Animated Armor perks when equipped in a specific order .”

There was also an issue with Tempest’s Heart Replica weapons being crafted with unintentionally high gear points. This has been curbed and now these items should craft within the intended range of 592-600. There is no word on if anything will affect gear crafted with the over stats.

With the number of changes New world seen, and the recent introduction of not just server transfers but the promised regional transfers, it seems fitting that this update also exposes a number of names used by deleted characters. This could also help those who decided to move to a new server to be with friends, pre-transfer, back in the long queue days and may have lost access to character names.

Overall, this update addresses a number of issues that have been affecting progression in Aeternum. See the notes over at NNew world.
