Nightbirde resigned as an AGT finalist last August after her cancer ‘turned for the worse’

America’s Got Talent singer Jane Marczewski has died aged 31 after a long battle with cancer.
The singer – who performs under the stage name Nightbirde – had months of treatment before the cancer spread to her lungs, spine and liver.
Host Terry Crews confirmed the tragedy, writing on Instagram : “We are saddened to learn of @_nightbirde’s passing. Our condolences to her Family & Best Friends during this difficult time. We love you, Nightbirde”
And judge Howie Mandel tweeted: “@_nightbirde is such a bright inspirational light in our lives. We must continue to live and learn from her words and lyrics. I feel like it. terrible about her passing. I feel fortunate to have met, heard and known her.”
She became an overnight success when she performed ‘It’s OK’ on AMT and received Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell.
A video of her singing the song during the show’s 16th season has received over 30 million views on YouTube.
Her death came as a shock to fans after the singer said it was a “miracle” to be “even alive” last December.
Sharing a black and white photo of herself, she wrote: “We are breaking records every second we survive.
“What a rare miracle to be alive.”
Nightbirde withdrew from the AGT finals last August after her cancer “turned for the worse”.
“Sharing my heart with the world on AGT has been an honor and a dream come true. My views this summer have been astounding,” she said in a statement.
“It’s a miracle that the pain I went through can be transformed into a beauty that opens people’s eyes all over the world.”
She continued, “Since joining the audition, my health has been deteriorating and my battle with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention.
“I’m sad to announce that I won’t be able to move on this AGT season. Life doesn’t always make time for the people who deserve it – but we knew it.
“Thanks for all your support, it means a lot to me. Stay with me, I’ll be better soon. I’m planning for my future, not my legacy. Pretty fail, but I still have dreams.”
In November, Nightbirde gave fans an update on her battle with cancer during an appearance on CNN.
She said: “I got the scans back and a bunch of things that were there are now gone, and a bunch of really big things have reduced in size. We’re on our way.
“A lot of dealing with the highs and lows of my life, all happening at the same time, and all of this happening in front of millions of real people – that’s a lot of things to do. perform.
“But it’s also an honor because the whole world is carrying its own weight, and together we’ve learned how to do it.”
