The PlayStation 5 will be available at Walmart today at 12pm ET

It’s time for another opportunity to shop for the most coveted console on the market right now: Sony’s PlayStation 5. Walmart has again stocked up on PS5 consoles for Walmart Plus subscribers. The drop for members only is planned today, April 19, at 12 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. PTand it is set to include both the disc-based PS5 for $499 and the PS5 Digital Edition for $399. you need one paid Walmart Plus account to crack either one (no free trials allowed), and while the premium subscription costs $98 per year, you can sign up for just a month for $12.95 to try your hand at a PS5 .

We’ve been through this exercise many times at Walmart, and while nobody likes to pay extra for access to buy a console, the retail giant is one of the more reliable stores that sell non-bundled consoles. This planned replenishment is no different, and both versions of the PS5 are available at their regular prices without forcing you to buy a large bundle.

Digital PlayStation 5 Edition

The PS5 Digital Edition costs $399. Compared to the standard PS5, this console costs $100 less and doesn’t include a Blu-ray drive.

There are a few things you can do to be successful. First, sort out your Walmart Plus account in advance and make sure the billing and shipping addresses you want to use for the purchase are saved. Also, be prepared to refresh the page every hour on the hour, but avoid the temptation to over-refresh the page before then, as Walmart’s automated bot protection can temporarily ban you and slow your progress. Once the Add to Cart button appears, click on it to join the online queue.

To increase your chances, you can try securing a console in a desktop browser and the Walmart mobile app at the same time, which often loads faster than its desktop counterpart. The lucky few who get through the queue should have 10 minutes to check out. Be persistent and don’t give up until the listings sell out, as Walmart typically stocks up on inventory every 10 minutes or so.
