The PUBG Mobile x Baby Shark crossover left us dazed and confused

That’s right, the latest crossover for PUBG Mobile is here baby shark. This song (and of course the accompanying dance) has been hugely popular with kids since it emerged from the depths in 2016, and has since spread its tendrils across the internet through multiple follow-up songs, animation, and apparently a partnership with Battle Royales!

We’ve embedded the video below for your viewing pleasure as four different PUBG characters go on an underwater adventure in search of red drop boxes – usually filled with guns – only to find a baby shark holding underwater fried chicken. It’s a journey.

This crossover is more than just a short video and a few laughs, there is a big Baby Shark event taking place in PUBG Mobile that will bring a whole range of themed cosmetics and challenges for the players.

While this may seem like an unlikely crossover at first, this isn’t the first time Baby Shark and PUBG have hosted a collaboration event! Back in October 2021, PUBG Mobile players were able to launch the game to see a similar month-long event. Knowing this, we can only assume that the collaboration with Baby Shark will be a big hit with mobile battle royale fans.

This is certainly a way to counteract an aging player base…

The elephant in the room, of course, is the conflict between the kid-friendly Baby Shark aesthetic and the understanding that PUBG is a game about blowing people’s heads off. The Baby Shark is either unknowingly making out with bloodthirsty killers in blissful ignorance, or is well aware that their plate of golden fried chicken was bought with blood.

Putting that thought aside, you can jump right into PUBG Mobile and reap the rewards from the Baby Shark crossover! For those who don’t want to earn their chicken dinner on the go, the PC version of the game has been free since early 2022, so there’s nothing stopping you from jumping back in.
