The Queen: ITV is suspending programming over concerns for the Queen’s health

ITV will suspend all 5pm programming amid concerns over the Queen’s health.

ITV News will air a special on the channel indefinitely as the nation awaits an update on the Queen.

Buckingham Palace said on Thursday: “Following further checks this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended that she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and in Balmoral.”

The Queen’s close family, including the Prince of Wales, have been informed with the latest announcement that fears for the monarch’s health are escalating.

New Prime Minister Liz Truss said: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

“My thoughts – and the thoughts of the people of our UK – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”

BBC also dedicated airtime today to the Queen’s health.

Ongoing updates will be given on the channel, which will discuss the Queen’s health concerns with various reporters including BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell.

Presenter Huw Edwards also now wears a dark suit, white shirt and black tie, a dress code worn as a mark of respect when a member of the royal family dies. The Queen: ITV is suspending programming over concerns for the Queen’s health
