ARIA Hall of Famers Crowded House, Six60 Stadium curator and soul singer Teeks are also twice nominated, while Gin Wigmore, Ladyhawke, Stan Walker and Aldous Harding are among the top Kiwi acts with only a chance.

Four categories will be presented – best record, best single, best new artist and global awards – with winners announced on 31st August in a party just for for guests at the Glasshouse.

The Rolling Stone Global Awards will be judged by the international editors of Rolling Stone, a panel that previously awarded the winners in this category to the Australian edition of the award, won by Tame Impala (2021) and The Kid LAROI (2022).

“There has never been a more exciting time to celebrate Kiwi music. New Zealand is a hotspot for global export talent and that has been proven time and time again as NZ artists rise above their weight on the global stage,” said Poppy Reid, total editor of The Brag Media, publisher of Rolling Stone Australia, commented. and New Zealand.

“I can’t wait to recognize the artists and records that have helped us get through tough times for every industry, but especially our music industry.”

The first annual ceremony follows RS’s expansion in Aotearoa earlier this year and the 2022 Rolling Stone Australia Awards ceremony in Sydney.

Putting NZ “music-centric with some of the best music watchers in the world is an exciting opportunity for our local industry,” added Reid.
