The Crown: Imelda Staunton on Inheriting the Queen’s Role

The Crown creators are looking for young actors with a “physical resemblance” to Prince William and Harry for the final series of the hit Netflix series.

The successful candidates selected for the job will play “important roles” in the TV series.

A casting announcement said they were looking for “two exceptional young actors” to play the 16- to 20-year-old dukes.

It revealed filming for the series’ final episodes will begin at the end of August in the UK, adding: “No previous professional acting experience is required.

“We are very experienced in greatly supporting young actors and their families through what they find to be a uniquely rewarding creative process.”

The series is expected to return with a fifth series later this year, with a new cast taking over.

Veteran actress Imelda Staunton will replace Olivia Colman as the Queen as the series moves into the 1990s, and Lesley Manville will play Princess Margaret.

Elizabeth Debicki plays Diana, Princess of Wales who was vacated by Emma Corrin.

According to reports, the series will dramatize her high-profile 1995 Panorama interview with Martin Bashir as well as other significant events in her later life.

Screenwriter Peter Morgan previously confirmed the sixth installment would be the final one.

The teenage princes casting call will be for season 6 of the show, which focuses on their lives in the early 2000s.

The script and plot will not be revealed before the film’s release, but 2001 was when Prince William was starting his undergraduate studies at St Andrew’s College in Scotland – where he met his wife Kate Middleton.

That was also the year Prince Harry was dubbed the Prince of Party and was accused of drinking and smoking marijuana.

Harry’s use of alcohol and drugs forced Prince Charles to take him to a rehab center for heroin users as a way of intimidation.

In 2002, the Queen famously stopped a criminal trial involving Paul Burrell, Diana’s former housekeeper, who was accused of stealing the princess’s property.
