The Sims 4 is getting a life-stage expansion, Growing Together, in March.

EA has announced that The Sims 4’s previously announced new Life Stage, Toddlers, will be available as a free update to the base game on March 16th, and will be released alongside the newly revealed Growing Together Expansion Pack, which aims to expand gameplay options across all Life Stages expand .
The new Toddlers stage of life in The Sims 4 is designed to bridge the existing gap between newborns and toddlers, and fill the Sims’ earliest years by introducing adorable little toerags with their own personalities, needs, emotions and feelings.
The free update gives players the tools to create and modify toddlers in Create-a-Sim and includes a wide range of clothing, accessories and hairstyles. It will also feature various toddler-themed interactions, including the ability to adopt toddlers, change their diapers, give them a nap, put them to sleep, and more.
In addition, players must turn to The Sims 4’s new Growing Together Expansion Pack, which adds more systems to the new phase of life. There are infant milestones that grant new skills, 18 Detectable Quirks That Change An Infant’s Behavior – such as: plus new tools including a changing station and toddler playmat.
Growing Together doesn’t just focus on toddlers, however, and brings additions for the full range of Sims 4 life stages. For example, toddlers get 18 possible quirks – including Aggressive, Picky Eater, Early Riser, Little Singer, Good Appetite, Loves Water, Hates Bedtime and Loves being Carryed – while kids get four new aspirations (Slumber Party Animal, Mind and Body, Playtime Captain, and Creative Genius) as well as a new Childhood Confidence system.
There are new items for little ones to play with in the expansion – EA mentions tree houses, splash pads, bikes, sleeping bags, slumber parties and friendship bracelets – and the additions continue into the older stages of life.
For example, the new milestone system applies to all Sims and continues to have an impact as they grow older, with milestones such as overcoming a career obstacle, getting fired from a job, having a mid-life crisis, and moving the family. Sims will also get compatibility settings as part of the new expansion, which will affect who they meet and who they don’t.
And at the top of the life ladder, Sim Elders can engage in new activities – mentioning power walking, solving puzzles at the recreation center, and serving as caretaker of the family keepsake box – and have access to new interactions, including teaching life lessons, remembering the good times and sneak treats.
Finally, Growing Together adds a new world to explore in the form of the bay town of San Sequoia, which is made up of three boroughs: Anchorpoint Wharf, Gilbert Gardens, and Hopewell Hills. Here Sims can walk together, learn to ride a bike, jog and hike the nature trail, fish, catch a movie at the Wharf’s renovated movie theater, visit the children’s library, and more.
The Sims 4’s Growing Together expansion pack – which is expected to cost £34.99 based on the price of previous versions – will be released on March 16 alongside the free Infants update for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
