Imagine having two days to pack up, move, go to school, change your life just months after war uprooted you from your home. Then, at the last minute, they say, “No, you can stay.” How insecure would that make you?

Last Monday, 135 Ukrainian women and children in Killarney, County Kerry, received word that they were being transferred from a government-provided hotel to new, unspecified accommodation in County Mayo. The bus would be there at 11am on Wednesday. They had less than 48 hours to pack their lives in bags. No warning, no advice, no voice.
