You know something is wrong when you send your ex a selfie of you in their bed.
Get excited about the stuff of #CoupleGoals. However, this is just the latest development in a series of bizarre, hateful scenes involving Kim Kardashian, new boyfriend Pete Davidson and her ex-husband, Kanye West, who has now gone through “Ye” “.
The relationship between Kardashian, a reality TV-crazed billionaire, reality TV mogul known for her image, and Davidson, a sassy comedian who once likened himself to a “lazy panda raccoon” eat”, seems unlikely in the first place. When rumors of their affair surfaced in October, the Internet went viral in the way it usually does when Davidson is seen holding the arm of another beautiful, successful woman – his former lovers. including Kaia Gerber, Phoebe Dynevor and Ariana Grande. But Kardasian is different.
First, she’s in the midst of a very public, and arguably very messy, divorce from West. To make matters more complicated, the former couple, who have been together for eight years, also share four children: North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two. It also doesn’t help that Kardashian happens to be one of the most famous women in the world, her personal life has been as a reality TV host for 14 years on E!’ s Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
But what started as an entertaining rivalry, the kind to be expected between one’s ex and their current partner, has turned ugly. In January, West released the song “Eazy,” which contained lyrics titled Davidson: “God saved me from an accident, just so I could beat Pete Davidson a**.” The rapper seems to be alluding to the Saturday Night Live (SNL) star in the Fivio Foreign single, “City of Gods,” in which he performs with the lyrics: “This afternoon, a hundred goons flocked to SNL, when I pulled it up, it died on arrival.”
However, matters escalated further, on February 12, when West posted a handwritten note on Instagram informing fans that Kid Cudi would not feature on his album, Donda, “because he’s your friend, you know who,” which fans mean Davidson, since he’s friendly with the rapper. West went on to share an image of himself with Kid Cudi and Davidson at dinner, only the comedian’s face was crossed out with a giant red “X”.
A series of Instagram posts have since been deleted, including one urging fans not to “do anything physical” to Davidson along with a screenshot of the alleged text message between West and Kardashian. There are memes too, some with Kid Cudi, while others feature Davidson and Kardashian. In one, it appears West has grafted his face onto a Marvel superhero alongside the likes of Julia Fox, Drake, Travis Scott, and Future. Meanwhile, on the side of his “enemies” Davidson, Kardashian and Taylor Swift allude to the rapper’s famous feud with the pop star.
Video of the day
There have been countless other jibes stories – some of which West has since apologized – but none compare to the images made in West’s music video for “Eazy,” in which the rapper is seen burying live a cartoon character of Davidson. Yes really. As if that wasn’t alarming enough, West followed this up with a second video showing the animated version of Davidson being beaten by a skinned monkey.
All things considered, it’s perhaps no surprise that Davidson has finally stepped onto the ring, having so far remained tight-lipped about things. If the leaked texts between him and West are anything to go by, it looks like Davidson is nearing the end of his relationship after spending weeks trying to defuse West’s public attacks. Screenshots of their reported conversation show Davidson calling the rapper’s actions “shameful”. He also claimed to have stopped SNL from “talking about or mocking” West, “something they’ve wanted to do for months”.
All of this would have been quite admirable if it weren’t for after West asked where he was, Davidson responded with that selfie.
It’s easy to dismiss all of this as just another Hollywood drama playing behind our screens. But there are very real concerns emerging behind this unfolding story. If it weren’t for mental health – something both West and Davidson have openly struggled with – in regards to Kardashian’s four young children, all of them would have certainly felt the effects of very public words. statements of their parents to some extent.
Surely this is the point where fans and social media users may realize that things have gone too far. Even if publicity is the ultimate goal, as Davidson suggests it is for West, we are likely not to participate. Besides, once you get rid of the history, the underlying problem here is the one we might have gone through. Seeing your ex moving on with someone else is always a tough thing – just like starting a relationship with someone who’s recently divorced. Then it’s time for some empathy.
It’s fascinating to watch the love life of one of the internet’s most divisive stars quickly unravel, which leads to a throwback to the ancient age of celebrity media, where the pain and suffering of an A-list singer is turned into money and selling magazines. Can we learn anything? Because there are real people at the heart of this story – and their fights and rivalries are nothing to celebrate.
