The Street Fighter 6 release date has been announced – and a slew of new characters

A NEW trailer for Street Fighter 6 was unveiled at The Game Awards, revealing the release date and four new characters.

In addition to scenes from the battles, a number of mini-games that you can play with friends were shown.

One is a smartly dressed elderly man with a cane who looks ominously over the city from a rooftop.

His name is JP and despite his age he is a well built and strong looking fighter.

Dee Jay is an active, faster movement and a look straight out of Jamaica.

The next fighter, Manon, had ballet dancers and a quick change in her intro scene which could indicate an agile fighting style.

Finally, Marissa is a slow, strong, gladiator-style fighter built like a bodybuilder.

Aside from all the action shown in the trailer, what fans were most excited about was having an official release date for the game.

Street Fighter 6 will be officially released on June 6, 2023then players can access all of its features.

A beta was launched earlier this year, and players were already excited about a portion of a limited version of the game.

Plenty of people were spotted enjoying the crazy custom creations that could be made in the game’s character creator.

Unfortunately, these wacky designs could only be used in the hub and cannot be used in online matches.

The beta didn’t include the single player campaign that people were looking forward to.

However, the bread and butter of the Street Fighter series, online competitive games were still available to try with a limited number of characters.

Numerous games are being announced at the Game Awards this year, with host Geoff Keighley claiming over 50 new announcements will be unveiled.

In addition to the new games shown, some of this year’s best games will be awarded.

Stray came as the surprise of this year’s nominations as an indie game that broke into multiple categories normally reserved for triple-A games.
