But the best destination for sun-seekers is surprisingly not on the popular Costa del Sol.

With an average of 349 hours of sunshine per month, Alicante offers the perfect sunny escape.

Located on the coast of the Costa Blanca, the holiday destination offers extensive beaches, restaurants and bars and a vibrant nightlife.

If you book ahead of the competition in February 2023 you can snag flights for as little as £24 each way.

And if the sunny weather isn’t enough to tempt you, then cheap liquor should surely seal the deal.

Compared to London, where the average price for a pint is around £5.33, hitting Alicante is a breeze, according to Finder.

And Alicante also offers excellent wine as the region has a reputation for being a mass producer of vineyards.

The city is full of activities that appeal to all types of travelers.

The central marketplace, Mercado Central, is home to over 200 stalls and shops selling a variety of fresh produce, seafood, meat and Spanish delicacies.

If you want to splash around, Aquopolis Torrevieja offers a variety of water slides and activities suitable for adults and children alike.

For those looking for an exhilarating challenge at this water park, the Kamikaze is a 50 meter long slide with an almost free fall at 45°.
