The suspicious item that caused the ITV evacuation was a gift to Lorraine Kelly

Lorraine Kelly has said it was a gift from a film company to her that caused a security alert at ITV that forced the building to be evacuated and two Metro stations closed.
Live TV shows were broadcast on Thursday and police were called after the suspicious package was delivered to London studios, where daytime shows are filmed.
This Morning abruptly stopped airing and Loose Women did not broadcast the show live, while Tube stations White City and Wood Lane, both near the TV Center, were closed.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, presenter Ben Shephard asked Kelly if she was responsible for the evacuation.
She replied: “Apparently, I was told that someone from a movie company sent me a small gift and it had a battery and when they took the X-ray it looked a bit suspicious.
“But all is well and beautiful and all right.”
This Morning paused commercials for the final 15 minutes of the live show, but when the show returned, a compilation episode began airing.
The panel show Loose Women, which aired on ITV shortly after This Morning, also did not broadcast a live show.

Instead, viewers got to watch host Nadia Sawalha tell viewers they were watching a “very special episode” of Loose Women, which will show the best bits of the Life Before Loose series.
Reflecting on the live broadcast being disrupted, Kelly said: “It shows all the systems are up so it’s all great.”
ITV’s live show is back in time for the 1:30pm noon news.
A statement from the channel on Thursday said: “Due to a suspicious security alert, the building that ITV broadcasts during the day was safely evacuated.
“The matter has been resolved and staff have returned to the building after the police received the clear information.
“We apologize for disrupting the schedule and we are now back on the regular schedule.”
