Is the Latest TikTok Vaseline Hack Safe?

The trend is to apply Vaseline to the lashes with eyelash curlers.

It acts as a substitute for mascara and many users claim that it keeps lash curl all day long.

TikTokers have been warned to be “incredibly cautious” about the trend as it could lead to eye problems if used incorrectly

Saffron Hughes, a resident makeup artist FakeEyelashes.com advises: “As with any product, makeup wearers need to be incredibly careful if they get a lot of petroleum jelly in their eyes.

“Eyelashes are frames to prevent bacteria from reaching the surface of our eyes and a product that is not fit for purpose could irritate them and cause a reaction.

“If you try this, rinse your eyes thoroughly with clean water to ensure no residue is left behind.”
