A TikTok star has shared the devastating news to her follower that her son was murdered the day before his 19th birthday.
Ophelia Nichols, who is behind the @shoelover99 TikTok account, told her 6.9million followers that Randon Lee was shot dead on Friday.
He was shot at a gas station in Mobile, Alabama but managed to drive across the street where he died. FOX10 reports.
Ophelia tearfully announced: “He was 18 years old, that’s the best part of a person’s life.
“And I know they’re out there in my town. They live and breathe out there when my son is dead.”
She also asked her followers for help, adding: “Someone has to know something”.
She said, “I’ve never asked you anything, but I need your help.”
She also remembered one of the last conversations she had with him.
She said: “I spoke to him around 10 yesterday morning to tell him I have his money for his birthday. He was looking forward to it…just hanging out with his friends and his girlfriend.
“His family was his life.
“You see other people going through things like that, and it never crosses your mind that — that’s going to be you someday.”
“But having a person make the choice to take your child away from you – he had a choice – she had a choice, and she chose to take my son away from me.”
In a later update, which she shared in the comments section of the video, she said investigators now have a lead on two people.
She wrote, “I hope they see this video and know what they did to my family.”
What led to the shooting is unclear as police continue the investigation.
A GoFundMe page for the family has raised more than £159,000 ($196,000).with hundreds of messages shared on the family support page.
One person wrote: “I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It doesn’t seem fair that a person who gives so much light to others should have to deal with something so dark.”
Another added: “I can’t imagine the pain you are going through. I am so sorry.”
A third wrote: “Thank you for being one of the sweetest women I’ve ever met on Tik Tok. I am so incredibly sorry that your beautiful son was taken away from you.”
Randon’s funeral will be held on July 2nd.
