A HOLIDAY is on everyone’s wish list this year after two years of lockdown and Covid restrictions.

However, as families tighten their belts, many are also looking to save money – so we’ve revealed some of the cheapest holiday destinations you can visit.

A new study by WizzAir looked at the combined living expenses per day which included daily rent, 6 bottles of water, four beers, a standard meal and a taxi ride.

Paphos in Cyprus went best away and cost less than €50 per person.

Hotspots Costa del Sol and Mallorca in Spain made the top 10 along with spots in Greece and Portugal.

Along with average airfares, here are the five cheapest destinations in Europe to book a holiday this summer.

1. Paphos, Cyprus – €43.67

The cheapest on the list of holiday destinations is Paphos in Cyprus.

With an average pint of beer costing €2.50 and water just 66 cents, you could also dine out for as little as €20 each.

There are bargain flights too, with flights to the island from the UK for less than £50.

2. Costa Del Sol, Spain – €62.15

One of Brits’ favorite holiday destinations, the Costa del Sol also has the cheapest pints with average prices starting at just €1.75.

And while dinner is a little more expensive – €21 per person on average – flights are much cheaper, at £26 return to Malaga from the UK.

3. Mallorca, Spain – €64.30

You can stay in Spain if you want a bargain Majorca comes as another cheap option.

Local beers are slightly more expensive than the Costa del Sol, averaging €2.50, but dinner is cheaper at €19, while water costs less than 50 cents.

4. Algarve, Portugal – €80.15

While the average cost is almost twice that of Paphos, a trip to the Algarve is still a steal for Brits.

Beer remains cheap, averaging €1.75, and flights remain affordable, around £87 from the UK.

5. Santorini, Greece – €92
