The top eight Temtems ranked by a competitive player

MUCH like a similar Pocket Monster fighting series, Temtem has a number of options for competitive play.

Ranked and clan leagues will challenge the most die-hard Temtem tamers, and getting to the top is no easy feat.

While teams are made up of six, eight are on offer here, as your team composition is more important than the Temtem itself.

If you want to assert yourself in Temtem, you need to catch these.

8. Babawa

Similar to Pokémon, defensive Temtem that stop your opponent’s attacks make for a strong competitive strategy.

Babawa has two 4x resistances to the common Water and Earth types and only one 4x weakness to Toxic.

His Mucous trait not only grants you 30% damage reduction from electric attacks, but also grants immunity to Freeze and Burn.

Each team should have around three or four supporting Temtem, and Babawa is a good choice for that.

These games are perfect for any Pokémon fan

Location: Babwa is located on the flywalk next to Mokupuni on the island of Omniesia.

7. Hazrat

Hazrat offers support while being poisonous.

There aren’t many Toxic Temtem that are viable in competitive play, despite their helpful ability to deal damage over time.

Hazrat’s unique Toxic/Fire typing features a powerful combination of resistances.

Contagious is the trait you want to use here, as Pursuit’s poison effect, which traps retreating Temtem, can be invaluable.

Another Support Temtem that should be one of the three or four on your team.

Location: Hazrat can be found in the Properton Sewers on Arbury Island.

6. Gyalis

Gyalis is a powerful offensive Temtem.

Gyalis is an offensive Temtem with great speed and attack stats, allowing it to sweep opposing teams.

The Reflection trait is both unique and powerful, giving a 35% chance to reflect Special Attack Damage back on enemies

Gyalis is also a Crystal type, which adds some variety to your team.

If you choose Gyalis, you should only use one or two other offensive Temtem on your team.

Location: Gyalis can be found in the mines of Mictlan on the island of Tucma south of Quetzal.

5. Golzy

Golzy is strong when you need an Electro type.

Golzy is strong when you need an Electro type.

If you want a powerhouse of an Electric Temtem on your team, Golzy is a solid choice.

The Diffuser property negates the opponent’s item when Golzy attacks, adding a powerful tool to your attack.

While not the strongest Temtem, Golzy is good for cover and would work as one of two or three attackers on your team.

Location: You cannot find Golzy in the wild, but his advancement, Sparzy, can be found in Iwabe in the wilds south of Neodo.

4. Kinu

Kinu is the best healer in the game.

Kinu is the best healer in the game.

Kinu is one of the most versatile support Temtem that can work on pretty much any team.

It’s a great healer and also has a nice range of support moves like sleep.

The trait to choose is Protector as it offers bonuses every time Kinu switches into battle.

Benefactor is the lesser used trait but provides healing over time.

Kinu would be one of the three or four support Temtem you bring to your team.

Location: Kinu only has a 5% spawn rate, meaning it’s a difficult Temtem to find. It is located in Giant Banyan at Citerior Omninesia.

3. shoulder

Rhoulder is both offensive and defensive.

Rhoulder is both offensive and defensive.

One of the strongest offensive Temtems in the game, Rhoulder also offers strong defense and HP.

The downside is that it has a shockingly low speed, meaning you’re usually the last to attack.

His Tardy Rush trait will negate this a bit, as both his speed and attack will increase after three turns.

If you join the competitive scene, you’ll see that many teams use Rhoulder as one of their main offensive Temtem.

Location: Rhoulder also has a 5% spawn rate in the Tasa Desert, which can be found between the two dark U-shaped markers on the map.

2. Tulkan

Tulcan resists a number of common species.

While Tulcan has average stats, it’s only weak to Water and Electric types while resisting Wind, Fire, Nature, and Crystal.

Both traits can be used, although Heater is usually used more often than Pyromanic.

Heater will burn both enemies when Tulcan enters the fight, making him incredibly powerful.

Location: Tulcan can only be captured by taking a Tuwai to the Altar of Inner Flame in Anak Volcano on the island of Omninesia.
